About Us
Established in 1970, First Step Pre-school Ltd. is a registered charity and has become an integral part of the local community.
Due to increasing demand we have now expanded into two successful groups each one
offering a safe and stimulating environment. We understand that all children are
individuals who develop and learn in different ways. Working in close contact with
parents and professional bodies we ensure that our curriculum planning is child led, flexible,
realistic and complies with the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). First Step Pre-school Ltd. is registered with the South Gloucestershire Council to receive the Nursery Grant.
Our Staff
First Step Pre-school Ltd. is run by fully qualified staff who regularly attend training courses to
ensure their skills are updated. Our parental committee has a very important role to play in the management and finances
of the pre-school. The committee meets regularly to make policy decisions as well as
organise fundraising and social events.
Your Child's Development
Your child will be assigned a Key Worker who will monitor their progress using
a 'Learning Story' which your child will begin as soon as they start at the pre-school. Using observational techniques a detailed
record of your child’s development will be made which will be freely available for
you to see and discuss at any time. By the time your child reaches school age they will have gained a good quality
education together with the essential social skills which will allow them to
integrate quickly into school.
