Caterpillar Club
(Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sessions for 3 year olds.)
- Christ the King sessions run from 12.30pm - 3pm and is registered for 22 children with 3 staff
and a parent helper.
- Crossways sessions run from 12.30pm - 3pm and is registered for 20 children with 3 staff and a
parent helper.
The afternoon session is run with the principal of learning through play. The staff take their lead from the children ensuring that
there is a balance between child led and adult led activities.
Equipment is recorded on the usage chart to make sure
we use all our resources.
During the afternoon the children help to tidy away the toys, have a drink of milk or water and eat a snack. The children can play inside
or outside as the door to the pre-school building is kept open.
If the weather is very bad we try to organise large group exercise in the main room with table and chairs
pulled back to accommodate the children. We believe children need physical exercise every day.
We make sure that there is always time for rhymes or singing and a story.
