First Step Pre-school Ltd opens Monday to Friday at two sites. Jenny Harris is the leader at the Christ the King site and Penny Smith is the leader at the Crossways site.

Morning sessions run from 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. These sessions are reserved for children in their final year before school. They may attend for a minimum of three sessions up to five sessions, depending on availability. The fees are currently £8.50 per session. However, we are registered to receive the Nursery Education Grant. Your child is eligible for funding from the funding period following his/her 3rd birthday. Funding periods run from 1st January to 31st March, 1st April to 31st August and 1st September to 31st December.

The Caterpillar Club for three year olds is open on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 12.30 p.m. until 3.00 p.m. and currently costs £8.50 per session.

The 2 1/2 Club runs alongside the Caterpillar Club on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 1.00 p.m. until 3.00 p.m. and currently costs £6.80 per session. While it is hoped that all children will make a natural progression through all the sessions, this is not always possible because of the availability of places.

All children are given a drink of milk or water and a healthy snack

Although based in the grounds of the two schools, the Pre-school is totally independent. Therefore, placing your child's name on our admissions list does not mean that your child is registered at either of the schools.
